The following is a list of project possibilities for the Literature Study Sets. Choose two to complete with your group. All projects should be chosen based on the talents and interests of the group and should demonstrate the knowledge and understanding of the book. Good luck!
1. Create a commercial to sell the book to adolescents. This requires scripting the commercial, creating scenery or backdrops, obtaining necessary props, and acting out the commercial or recording it on videotape. 2. Design two still advertisements to sell the book to adolescents. This requires drafting a proposal for the advertisement and creating the polished artwork as it would appear in a magazine. 3. Create dioramas to represent major events in the book. In addition to the artwork required for a diorama, each diorama requires a written description of what has happened in the book to that point and an explanation of the scene's importance to the story. 4. Create a mural depicting scenes from the book. A written description of the scenes and an explanation of their importance to the final outcome of the book are also required. 5. Design a series of posters showing the major events of the book. A written description of the scenes and an explanation of their importance in the work are required. 6. Create a new ending to the book. This requires rewriting the final chapter of the book and adding additional text that would bring the story to a different conclusion. 7. Create a newspaper based on the time period and the events in the book. all of the elements of a newspaper should be included (news, editorials, sports, weather, cartoons, society news, etc.). 8. Create diaries, journals or letters written from various characters' points of view. Entries should represent the entire time frame of the novel. 9. Create a board game or television game show. This project involves designing the board, game pieces and cards and writing rules. 10. Simulate an interview with the author of the book. Interview questions and answers are scripted, author background research is completed, other works by the same author are read, and the interview is taped on videotape. 11. Create a Keynote or Inspiration Interactive book or an iMovie video presentation about your book. 12. Other - I'd be happy to discuss with your group any of your ideas for a group project that are not included here. |
