MYTHOLOGY

Students will experience some of the classical mythology from Greek and Roman times. This unit will correspond as closely as possible with the classical study of Greece and Rome during the Classical Civilizations units in social studies. The students will read the following selections from the seventh grade testbook Elements of Literature. The selections from the book are as follows: "The Origin of the Seasons" "Orpheus, the Great Musician" "Echo and Narcissus" "The Flight of Icarus" "The Labors of Hercules" "King Midas and the Golden Touch"
After several selections are read and discussed, the students will begin writing their own myths. Students will learn the particulars of writing myths and will write a process piece. |
