In the next few days you will be putting together a time capsule that will represent you at this point in your life. To start, you will need a shoebox. In this shoebox, you will place some written work, a "Who’s Who" list of classmates, a letter from your parents to you, an "In/Out" list, a pop culture written snapshot and small items you bring in from home. This capsule will be completed by the end of the year.

The capsule will be stored here at Hixson until you graduate high school. Please do not bring in anything valuable in case of fire of other freak accident. I have given each of you a letter to your parents asking them to write a letter to you. Should they give you permission to read it now, please do so. If they don’t, they will probably either send it via mail to school, or send it with you in a sealed envelope. Don’t peek!

When you bring in all of your "stuff" and fill out our lists, you will place everything in your shoebox, seal it, personalize the outside of the box, and store it in the huge box in class. Upon graduation, you will come back to Hixson and open your time capsule. You will receive a reminder in May of your senior year. Good luck!
